Queen Julius is an American double IPA brewed with a novel blend of hops resulting in an immensely juicy beverage. The addition of classic American hops brings about whispers of sweet floral character that melds perfectly with the celebrated base beer.
The Queen pours a turbid orange color in the glass and carries easily distinguished notes of ripe cantaloupe, juicy citrus, gooey papaya, and sweet honey.…

16oz can served in a very large snifter. Can is dated 03/12/2024. @Roguer sent it to me in NBS BIF #18.
Pours murky whitish-amber with a ginormous head. To be fair, I was pouring very vigorously, in a @beergoot pour attempt, so YMMV. Huge, pillowy, mixture of big and small bubbles, settling surprisingly slowly, sustained with pretty substantial visible waves of carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. Smell is citrus rind and the vitamin C tablets I used to love as a kid.
Taste is way more on the bitter side than other Tree House IPAs I've had. Still firmly in the citrus area, lots of rind and a little zest, but not a specific fruit. Bitterness comes in primarily as grapefruit rind, though.
Mouthfeel is medium, fairly chalky. I like this beer a lot.

Incredibly juicy and aromatic nose, ranging from sharp citrus to lush tropical fruit to a bright, green, sharp herbal note.
Similar on the palate, with a melange of fruity and bright hop notes that blend very well together. Tasting notes of mango, pineapple, tangerine, guava, lemon zest, oregano, peach, and melon.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Turbid orange, mixing with touches of slushy yellow and nearly pulp like but at least with no chunks. Creamy classic Tree House forming head, three four finger tall easily, simple and creamy, great retention. Has a bit of a vanilla yellow like color to it as well.
Hop gooeyness indeed. Big aroma of soft papaya, mushy cantaloupe with out the overripe sensation or sweetness. Perfume like with juicy fruit tropical tones galore. Superior tropical exotic fruit nose on this one.
Oh man is the brew on the palate impeccable. Juice amounts of melon and papaya with an excellent cutting bitterness that is an almost steely like grapefruit flavor. Spicy and practically soft white pepper finish, a tingling tongue of honey and superb mouthfeel. Finishes with more touches of spicy orange peel and grapefruit, mixing green and yellow melons all over. Hot mint then gets added for a final touch.
This is a real superb hop fruit flavor in an expressive punchy and controlled package. Real stunner of a brew.

Poured from a can into a teku glass
Appearance – The beer pours a massively hazy deep orange juice color with a big thick head of white foam. The head has an amazing level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of an orange and tangerine smell mixed with lots of tropical fruits of papaya and mango. Along with these smells comes some melon, along with a decent showing of a grapefruit and herbal hop smell. Notes of a floral hop smell and some sweet honey and hibiscus are there as well. With a touch of breadiness and some light hay, a quite inviting aroma is produced overall.
Taste – The taste starts out with a mix of hoppy and fruity. The hop is heaviest of a herbal and grapefruit nature, but contains some pine and floral hop tastes as well. The sweet is a mix of tropical fruits and citrus fruits, with the heaviest being a tangerine and orange flavor. Other fruit flavors are of a apricot, melon, and papaya nature. There is a bit of honey and a doughy flavor upfront, both of which fade as the taste advances. All the while the hop gets more intense, with an increase in the pine and herbal hop tastes. A surge of green hop comes toward the end, leaving one with a slightly more dank and quite robust, juicy fruit taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is very thick and chewy with a moderate level of carbonation. For the mix of flavors (sweet and hoppy) and the abv, the feel is great, making for a nice slow and enjoyable sipper.
Overall – A very enjoyable double with a decent amount of dankness and a overall good balance of hop, sweet, and malt.

Medium-dark orange with some yellow highlights, murky and turbid, pours with a medium sized off-white head that fades to wisps
Citrus, both herbal and juicy, with some orange and grapefruit pith, floral citrus, herbaceous and green notes, slightly dank, tea-like notes, rich tropical notes, almost syrupy fruit (minus the sweetness), mango, melon, cantaloupe, tropical fruit juice, low sweetness, medium bitterness, some alcohol in the finish
Medium body, smooth and chewy, almost a little sticky, carbonation on the low side
I'm in demographic that prefers Julius over King Julius, and unsurprisingly I prefer Julius over Queen Julius as well - and this is much less of a competition. This is a significant derivation from the Julius base, in my opinion, taking it into a direction that is somehow more floral, more herbal, but also more like a tropical fruit cup (with syrup).

Pours a giant frothy almost 3 finger head with great retention, sticky frothy thick lacing, hazy cloudy opaque orange peach color
Nose super juicy, citrus, some tropical as well, orange, tangerine, mango, pithy, creamy flaked proteins, little orange creamscicle and mango sorbet
Taste brings lots more citrus and some tropical, creamy juicy soft flaked proteins again, soft juicy with orange cream, tangerine juice, mango sherbet, a little pithy but mostly juicy and creamy, a hint alcohol late, and touch of bitterness, a touch of a green spicy hop late, but mostly blended well,
Mouth is med to fuller bod, soft juicy creamy, med frothy carb, touch of warming alcohol
Overall quite nice, not as orange Julius character as the original or variants, but still good
