Double Shot Chai is a rendition of Double Shot featuring House-roasted coffee from Colombia and our own House-made Chai concentrate. Crafted with cardamom, long pepper, cloves, orange peel, hawthorn berries, licorice root, ginger, cinnamon, and cascara (the husk of dried coffee cherries), Double Shot Chai is a complex and spicy delight! We taste milk chocolate, caramel candy, cocoa powder, and a mix of autumn spice with warming sensations. Wow! This is a real treat, indeed—Enjoy!

Poured from a 16oz can stamped CHAI AND CHAI AGAIN (also confusingly) 8:52:26 (no date) to a diagonally cut snifter at fridge temp. I intend to sip this slowly and let it warm.
This pours Black with a small brown head that fades to a persistent ring.
The aroma is of cinnamon, cloves and a very volatile aroma I cannot identify (think quickly-evaporating).
The taste as with most Treehouse stouts is sweet. However this one takes the prize, kind of like cinnamon and cardamom rock candy. I can kind of imagine the Chai in the finish, but it's subtle. Also subtle is an slightly elevated scoville score.
Mouthfeel is sticky as one would imagine with such a sweet stout. A little mouth coating, but not really thick.
I for one wish Treehouse would realize that not all stouts have to be as sweet as their juice bombs. With their skills I think a bitter effort in this style would be a killer.

16 oz can poured into a snifter. Pours pitch black with a nice mocha head and some lacing. Aroma and flavor feature dark roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate, black coffee, chai spices (ginger and cardamom are most noticeable), wood ash, vanilla, and dulce de leche. Mouthfeel is thick, viscous, creamy, and hides the 8.8% abv well. Overall it's a nice spin on an imperial coffee stout and the mouthfeel is what takes it to the next level.

Pours opaque, jet black in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is chai, coffee, ans sweet Tree stout. Heavy body, low carbonation, sweet. I am a tea geek. I do not get as much chai from this as I get English winter warmer mixed with coffee. Not bad, and I appreciate how Dialed back the coffee is but I want more chai.

Picked-up two cans at Tree House in Sandwich for about seventeen dollars. My two hundred and forty second brew from these guys. I do not know what Chai is, but I do not like it. Weird mix of flavors, a rare TH miss for me.
