Curiosity One Hundred Twenty Four is a further exploration into discovering how our 2021 hop selections translate into our beer.

A Simcoe and Nelson bomb! In a contrasting but delicious combination, C124 carries notes of Hawaiian punch, white wine, and earthy citrus balanced by a pine-like bitterness. This is a delightful time where the most expressive and volatile hop compounds show their color and tastiness for us to enjoy.

L - pours a sunset yellow with a pale green hue. Fuzzy white head that likes to settle with a few mm of foam.

S - orangey white wine and bready lemon pith. Fruity and earthy.

T - more intense than the nose would suggest. Some booze warmth shines through as a thick layer of dry hops create a piney, herbaceous environment sprinkled with underripe citrus and zesty grapefruit bitterness.

F - full and creamy. More so than usual TH fare which is a nice contrast to the hoppy flavors. Usually it's the juice bomb that's full af, so it's nice to see some pillow with my hops.

O - different from the standard juicy beers in TH's library, this one errs more on the west coast side of things but still features its fair share of everything that makes Tree House stand out.

Canned on 4/12/22; consumed on 5/4/22

Pours a hazy darker shade of sunflower-orange capped with just over a finger of creamy white foam; solid head retention leaves a vague layer of cap, a slight, frothy collar, and myriad chunky spatter of webby/spotty lacing caked across the walls of the glass.

Aroma features earthy orange into papaya and a silky white grape dankness, with softer passionfruit zest appearing over time as tinges of mango round of a discernibly resinous sweetness to the bouquet.

Taste opens with musty orange and brighter bits of dank lemon peel; a white wine mid-palate eases to sensations of grassy resins, while the back end highlights a fruitier undertaking of slight mango and papaya.

Mouthfeel offers a medium body with moderate carbonation fading to a slick juiciness over the mid-palate, while subtle dryness develops into shades of distant bitterness prickling through the back end to underscore a bright hop twang on the finish.

Parsing through the subtler edges of dank Southern Hemisphere hops, Tree House offers a smoother impression of the typically waxy white grape sheen for another consummately drinkable near-8%er.
