Quadruple Shot Chocolate & Vanilla is an imperial milk stout brewed with House-roasted coffee roasted in a way to accentuate chocolate characteristics, liquid coca nibs, & whole vanilla beans.

Pouring like syrup in the glass, it carries flavors and aromas of white chocolate chunk chocolate cookies, vanilla ice cream, and happiness.

This is a great beer for sharing, it drinks especially well at 45-50 degrees in a snifter -- Enjoy!

Drank from a 12 oz. bottle purchased at Tree House Brewing Company, Sandwich, MA
Served in a snifter

The beer poured a foreboding looking, super oily and viscous, near pitch black. There was no head and hardly any lacing. A few tiny steaks and dots trickled down the sides of the glass after each sip.

The nose was a bit subtle initially but became really punchy after a minute or so of opening up. Super vanilla forward. Bourbon vanilla notes came through big time. This definitely reminded me of the aroma you get from a bottle of high quality vanilla extract. Moderate amount of roastiness from the malts. There was a noticeable boozy quality as well. Bourbon came to mind. Bit of espresso too. The coffee presence, however, was a lot more subtle than I anticipated. As the beer warmed, some chocolate fudge appeared. The chocolate intensified later.

The flavor profile was spectacular and reminded me of an even more amped up version of the aroma. Really malty and robust up front. Nice melding of caramel and roasted malt notes. The vanilla kicked in hardcore as the beer moved along the palate. Again, a high quality bourbon vanilla extract came to mind. Moderately boozy but pleasantly so. Sweet brown sugar notes were also apparent. More boozy bourbon on the back end and the finish. Some sweetness lingered after the swallow.

The mouthfeel was outstanding. Super dense and viscous, like heavy whipping cream. The liquid contained a fine, mild effervescence that worked nicely for the style. After a few sips, the sugars in the beer left a super sticky film on my lips.

I drank Quadruple Shot - Barrel Blend a few weeks ago, and that beer had surprisingly little barrel character to it. This Chocolate and Vanilla variant however, which was not barrel aged, seemed to contain a ton. I would love to see what type of effect bourbon barrel aging would have on this beer, as I bet it would be incredible.

16 oz can poured into a snifter. Tree House delivers every time with their "x" shot stouts. This offers big hits of vanilla, black coffee, semisweet chocolate, and dark roasted malts with a hint of earthy hops. Mouthfeel is rich, thick, smooth, and viscous. Tasty stuff and shockingly drinkable despite the 12% abv.
