Fieldburner is a pre-prohibition lager brewed with the benefit of extensive historical insight. Before prohibition, immigrant German brewers in the Americas adapted their processes to suit the supply of native commodities available at the time. Containing 6-row barley, corn, white wheat, and Cluster hops, Fieldburner is a faithful replication of this style of lager with the added benefit of modern equipment and packaging technology. Pouring a brilliant pale yellow color into the glass, it contains rustic notes of doughy barley, sweet corn, and a mix of earthy spice and citrus from the Cluster hops.

Shared a pint with Da Boss while visiting the Deerfield facility on 10-1-25 for $9.
This edition of a pre-prohibition lager was done well, reminded me of Michelob and the original Stroh's with the malt base having a bit of an edge to it and the hops balancing but leaving a lingering trace of black pepper bitterness. Nicely done!

Poured from a can into a tree house tulip glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a large head of white foam. The head has a great level of retention, fading and leaving tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a wheat and corn smell mixed with notes of caramel and grain. Rounding it all out is a touch of straw.
Taste – The taste begins with a blend of sweet corn and wheat with some caramel and a bit of grain. As the taste advances the corn increases a bit all while the wheat and grain fade. Notes of a very light herbal and earthy nature join in, leaving one with a crisp and sweeter lager taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is medium to light with a moderate carbonation level.
Overall – A pretty easy drinking lager with a rather sizable flavor for the abv. Pretty nice.

8 months old. Can to willi.
L: Pours a slightly opaque golden yellow with a foamy white head that dissipates rather quickly leaving a bit of lacing. No floaters.
S: Grainy and bready with malty and grassy hints. Subtle notes of lemon and banana.
T: Grainy and bready notes are also dominating the beer‘s taste. It‘s grassy and a bit smoky as well and there are some fruity hints of green apple and banana.
F: Crisp and crushable. Medium carbonation.
O: Not the best lager I‘ve had so far, but definitely the most interesting one. Very flavorful and highly drinkable at the same time. Very good beer.

16 oz can, picked up at the brewery in October, in my fridge cold since
pours a clear yellow straw color, thick foamy white head. Great head retention, a layer remains to the bottom of the glass. aroma is grainy, a bit sweet. definitely pick up the corn. a touch of earthy hops. similar flavors in the taste, the middle of the taste is sweet but has a shorter finish. thin bodied, but the carbonation doesn't seem prickly like most adjunct lagers do.

Canned 8/26/22. “Where’s the hose at?? :O” stamped on the bottom of the can
Well that’s the strangest message I’ve seen on a Tree House can! And now they’re tackling a Pre-Prohibition Pilsner, one of the latest Lager fads. I’ve yet to review one but I’ve had a few while out and I tend to enjoy them well enough. Let’s see what their take on the style is like
Pours a mostly clear pale yellow with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose here is very bright and vibrant but also feels raw. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon juice, cereal grain, peppery hops, honey, light corn, and apple skin
It opens up to something sweeter in taste, less citrusy but still very nice. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting bready malt, lemon zest, sweet honey, corn, toasted grain, apple skin, and light floral hops. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, cereal grain, peppery hops, honey, and light toast
A light body pairs with moderate prickly carbonation, resulting in a crisp yet smooth beer. Finishes mostly dry with a grainy sweetness
I generally tend to prefer international-style Lagers, but this is killer for a straight up American Lager, Pre-Prohibition style. Great stuff

16 oz can.
Pours a cloudy straw color with a big fluffy white head. Moderate retention. Leaves a few splotches of lacing.
Aromas of cereal grains, sweet corn, dough, and lemon zest.
The taste follows the nose, with a bit more citrus. Very grainy. Finishes a bit spicy and earthy.
The feel is medium-light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Easy drinking. Has a dry finish.
Overall, this is a good American lager. It's definitely worth a try, if you like the style, but there are far cheaper options out there of similar quality.

Had on tap. Pours clear, gold in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is pilsner malt that is slightly muted and corn. Light bodied, slightly sweet, moderate carbonation. Makes for a solid lager. Not sure if this is much different than a post Prohibition lager....or any lager...but as anightcap it will do....happy with one.
