16oz can served in a nonic pint. Dated Autumn 2025. Got it from @braunmeister_1943.

Pours darker than cola, medium sized head on the pour, shrinks down to a thick skin and good shoulders. Smell is roasty, toasted bread and rising dough, coffee and hazelnuts and chocolate.

Taste follows many of the same descriptors, but adds in a sweetness -- might be dates, but that doesn't seem right. Coffee and heavily toasted bread.

Mouthfeel is light, airy. This is a really nice beer, I could drink a lot of it.

Drinks like a very generic schwarz. It doesn't have that extra TH level of quality that I get from their other beers, including many of their lagers. At 5.3% it drinks more like a 4.5% beer, lacks some body. Pretty thin.
Bitterness is on the assertive side which is neither good or bad. Malt character lacks depth.
Nothing much wrong with it but it drinks mundane.

Canned about a year ago, but that has certainly done nothing to diminish its appearance. I'm a sucker for Scharzbiers, and this one is beautiful. Loads of persistent beige head, excellent retention and great, great lacing. Aroma is light roast with clear toasted bread notes and faint malts. Overall, this is an enticing beer.

Taste, while still really nice, takes a back seat to the look and nose. Some of the same toast notes come through, but I think this has probably suffered a little bit from the year in the can. Very easy drinking, and mostly thin. Easy to drink.

16oz.can served in a willibecker. Pours the color and clarity of cola with a tight, 1.5 inch, khaki-colored head. Nose expresses notes of roast and cocoa. Taste consistent with nose; however, it’s a bit watered down. Mouthfeel is light in body with a pleasant carbonation. Overall, a solid example of the style.

Pours a very dark cola brown color that settles as nearly back and supports a creamy light tan head. Beautiful schwarzbier. The nose features a little smokiness,, roasty chocolate malts, wheat bread, and some noble hops.

The taste has that bit of smokiness and roasty chocolate up front, with the wheat bread and and hop flavors following. This drinks really smooth.

The mouthfeel is crisp and dry, allowing for long pulls from the glass. This is a fantastic fall/winter beer without being too heavy.
