Trail Wet Hop Idaho Gem is a rendition of our Pilsner, wet-hopped with boatloads of fresh-picked novel Idaho Gem hops that went straight from the field, onto a plane, and to Tree House under a nitrogen cold flush during shipping. It explodes with notes of apricot, mango, and peach with a gentle and smooth finish. As the market moves toward the conveniences of pelletized fresh hop products, we continue to pursue the decidedly old school, going farm direct in this increasingly rare delight. This is a special one, indeed—cherish and enjoy!

12 oz can - "Autumn 2023" stamped on bottom

Pours a slightly cloudy light golden color, thick white head. good head retention. grassy, floral and fruity hop aroma. bready pale malt - finishes a little sweeter than I'd prefer. thin to medium body, mouthfeel is a little slick for a lager.

Canned Autumn 2023

Surprisingly, I’ve never had the OG Trail or any of its variants until now. Prehaps I’ve had one on draft and didn’t review it but I’m almost certain this is my first. This one sounds really interesting, basically a super tropical fruity German Pilsner. Let’s crack it open and find out what it’s all about

Pours a cloudy light gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing

The nose here is super bright but also more traditional than I was expecting instead of super fruit forward. I’m picking up on aromas of orange zest, crackery malt, grassy hops, sweet honey, dried apricot, lemon zest, and toasted grain

The fruity notes are definitely more present in taste, especially up front, but it still remains relatively balanced. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting jammy apricot, orange zest, bready malt, floral hops, sweet honey, peach, and light grass. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, orange jell-o, jammy apricot, raw grain, sweet honey, floral hops, light grass, and lemon zest

A light body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes bone dry and balanced

This one is really fun. Super crushable and not too far outside of style traditions
