Tahitian Vanilla Bean Truth is a twist on the original version of one of our favorite barrel program offerings. This variant has been aged for over two years in select wheated bourbon barrels and then conditioned upon heaps of purposefully selected Grade A Tahitian vanilla beans. Much like the original, it pours a viscous black color into the glass with a mocha-colored head. When poured cold, the flavor profile leads with chocolate wafer cookies, bourbon-vanilla heat, and rich dark chocolate. As it warms, the individuality of this vanilla truly begins to shine, revealing a delicate floral quality, hints of anise, and dark cherry. It is our hope that this beer brings you a bit of the familiar with a splash of the unknown.

8 ball black with a solidly present, level brownish-tan blanket.
It's stupid how long I've had this on my ISO list. Does it pay off? I think I liked non-vanilla Truth a touch more, but this is a fine stout with vanilla caviar and a tannin forward char. Kind of like Oreo, but bitter.
Moderately viscous but not super thick.

Look - black thick syrup nice lacing no real head or rimming
Smell - dark chocolate, vanilla, so much barrel. Taste is a step lower but outstanding
Feel - full body light carb, perfect for this beer
Overall - if the taste was on par w the smell and it had at least rimming this would be a perfect beer

500ml waxed and capped bottle into a Tree House teku.
Pours slick and viscous. No head, no lace, no carb. Thick, oily legs. Nose is bright cherry and raspberry, chocolate, and sweet soy sauce. Booze and chewy fudge. Very lively. Beer opens with a touch of raspberry gummy. Sweet soy sauce, fudge, and molasses. Breakfast syrup and barrel notes in the middle. Dried dark fruit, sweet cream, sticky vanilla at the end. Big barrel notes and the slightest peatiness in the aftertaste. Body is full with little to no carbonation. Sticky and chewy on the palate. Goes down viscous and hot. Long, lingering aftertaste.
Nice. There's a fruitiness here but the vanilla presence is mellow at best.

Huge aromas of vanilla and bourbon, even from a distance. Additional notes of molasses, caramel, toast, and chocolate. Incredibly potent, rich, inviting, and delectable.
Flavor follows. It perhaps can't quite live up to the aroma, if barely, but it's phenomenal. Chocolate-covered nuts, lush and earthy vanilla, slight sour bourbon, cherry, molasses, toffee, honeycomb. Slightly hot; thick and chewy.
The regular vanilla bean Truth is a delicious, incredible beer. This one is perhaps a step better. If the bourbon mash were slightly less sour, this beer would be even more amazing.
