Tanzanian Vanilla Bean Truth is a twist on the original version of one of our favorite barrel program offerings. This variant has been aged for over two years in select wheated bourbon barrels and then conditioned upon heaps of purposefully selected Grade A Tanzanian vanilla beans. Much like the original, it pours a viscous black color into the glass with a mocha-colored head. When poured cold, the flavor profile leads with chocolate wafer cookies, bourbon-vanilla heat, and rich dark chocolate. As it warms, the individuality of this vanilla truly begins to shine, revealing a more pronounced and creamy richness, subtle cacao, and hints of honey and caramel. It is our hope that this beer brings you a bit of the familiar with a splash

500ml waxed and capped bottle into a Tree House teku.
Pours pitch black and viscous. No head, no lace. Thick, rich legs that coat the glass. Nose is ethanol, dank cocoa beans, chocolate, over-roasted malt. Kind of strange. Beer opens breakfast syrup, molasses, and brown sugar. Chocolate, fudge, and cocoa powder in the middle. Anise, and caramel with loads of barrel at the end and finish. Super sweet with an awkward roundedness. Body is full with low carbonation. Rich and full on the palate and heavy going down. Long, lingering aftertaste.
The body is great as always here but the rest of this one is lacking.

Pretty much no head to speak of; of the vanilla bean Truth variants, this has perhaps the least impressive overall appearance, although I suspect I can't chalk that up to the vanilla bean, and is likely more of a batch-to-batch bottling thing.
Super rich and inviting on the nose. As with the others, prominently features vanilla and bourbon; I would argue more of the vanilla in this case than the bourbon. Additional notes of chocolate, molasses, red grape, toffee, and honeycomb.
Flavor follows. The vanilla again wins out over the bourbon, and is itself very smooth in presentation. The bourbon, as with the others, leans on the sharper, more sour side, but is overall a very pleasant complement to the vanilla and the malt base. Very rich; very, very little bite from the high ABV.

Look - Black and thick with fantastic rimming
Smell and Taste - Thick brownie matter with a nice amount of vanilla and barrel.
Feel - Thick full body that really sticks with a very slight carb, perfect
Overall - just outstanding
