No canning date. And I was complaining about the last beer I had from them being simply dated 2025. Sheesh

So Tree House decided to do their take on the classic Wachusett Blueberry Ale, a beer I’ve never particularly loved but it’s a concept that I think Tree House can do justice to. I just hope it’s not as bland and a bit more tart than the OG. Let’s crack it open and find out

Pours a cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves nice lacing

The nose has a bright tannic quality reminiscent of blueberry skin that I’m really digging. I’m picking up on aromas of earthy wheat, blueberry skin, coriander, lemon zest, raspberry, light honey, and doughy malt

It’s still quite simple in taste but it lacks the bite suggested by the aroma. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting earthy wheat, blueberry, lemon juice, crackery malt, grass, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of graham cracker, raw grain, blueberry, lemon zest, light grass, and coriander

A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry and refreshing

While this is a little bland it’s very crushable and still interesting enough

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a wheat beer with real blueberries at 5.1% ABV. It's a hazy golden in color beneath a short head of white foam. The head retention is not that great which is odd for a wheat beer that has a lot of extra proteins in it but maybe the lacing will be better. The aroma reminds me of Boo Berry breakfast cereal. There's blueberry there but it's not strong, and that's OK. The taste displays more blueberry and that's all I really care about. It's wheaty and fruity, and nicely balanced. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp. I think a little more carbonation would have been nice, and that would certainly have helped with the head retention but it would have also added a little bit more acidity so I'm trusting that Tree House has gotten it right. The lacing, I should note, was not that good either. It's a decent enough fruit beer but nothing new. I appreciate that they've used real fruit though, because that really makes a difference to me.
