Komorebi: Natsukashii is our Japanese Rice Lager brewed with premium pilsner malt, rice, Styrian Dragon hops, and dry hopped with Eggers Motueka. It is a crisp, clean, elegant showcase for its characterful ingredients. It pours a brilliant pale yellow color into the glass and purveys notes of bready malts, straw, and white rice, with gentle, hoppy notes of fresh-squeezed lemon-lime citrus, melon, and herbal spice. Though perfectly fine fading into the background of spirited conversation with friends and family alike, Komorebi is an assertive lager that surprises and delights with its elegance, character, and dutiful construction.

Had on tap at Sandwich. Pours murky, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is earthy hops, dank hops and yeast. Medium light body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Delicious and interesting lager.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my .5 L dimple mug. the can was received about 1 month ago and is date stamped Autumn 2024.
the beer pours a lightly hazy golden color with a fluffy bleached white head of 2 cm foaming up. This foam fades to a sturdy surface covering and leave some windowpane lattice on my glass. Wish the clarity was better for this lager.
Aroma is much more hop forward than I expected, I get some citrus notes and a bit of melon rind. Also very mild white bread malt but hops steal the show on the nose.
the first sip reveals a light body with smooth texture and gentle rolling carbonation. Beer drinks very easy on the physical traits.
Flavor is similar to the nose with a bit of bready malt and then some lemony notes and a bit of spicy hop note on the finish. Beer dries out on the finish and in general is pretty mild. I actually wonder what a non-dry hopped version would be like as the hops dominate any malt notes. Glad to have tried it, but I definitely dont love it as it doesnt seem to really know what it is.

Cloudy yellow with plenty of puffy white head and good retention. Aromas is sweet at first but then light citrus from the hops emerges.

Taste is an odd mix of rice lager and cheap / weak IPA. Not clean enough to be the former and not hoppy enough to be the latter. Somehow this just doesn't work for me. It would be a good "hanging out with friends and not paying attention to what I'm drinking" beer, but with close inspection, not my thing.
