To be unhurried is to be unburdened. Humans are particularly suited to imagining scenarios, good and bad, that will never come to pass. In all the dreaming, worrying, and wishing for unknown futures, we sacrifice where life exists: now. Presence, and in turn, patience, can be cultivated but never mastered, only experienced within the dailiness of life. Moment of Patience is a blend of fresh Milk Stout and a small portion of its barrel-aged counterpart from our vast bourbon cellar. This decadent treat is brewed and conditioned with coffee, chocolate, and dark amber maple syrup. As the young beer left our cellar, it was introduced to its elders and blended with a small thread of barrel-aged stout. Pouring pitch black with a coffee head, aromas of chocolate-dipped maple candies and creamy lattes waft out of the glass. Underneath are softened flavors of American oak and notes of vanilla syrup. Rich but effortlessly drinkable, this beer is crafted to be sipped with time out of mind.

Pours a dense dark black with plenty of dark tan head. Lovely colour.

Smell is overly sweet, chocolate, coffee, maple.

Taste is the same. Unfortunately it sort of has that overly sweet taste I've had with a few lower abv milks stouts.

Feel is smooth and creamy, if a bit too carbonated

Brewers notes : This delicious Stout carries notes of chocolate-dipped maple candies, creamy lattes, vanilla, and mellow oaky spice.

Purchased March 2025; no canning date. Inky black in color with an intense nose and palate of coffee, chocolate, and maple syrup as advertised. Soft mouth feel. Lovely.

Poured from 16oz can into pint glass in March 2024, that I purchased at their brewery in Tewksbury, MA. There is no date on the can, and I drank this about 1 week after I purchased it.

Appearance: Very dark black with 1-finger head. The head was dark brown, and disappeared after a minute. It left only a little lacing on the glass, and no head remained after a minute.

Smell: Strong mix of aromas filled the room as soon as the can was opened. Roasted coffee, caramel, and chocolate aromas. Some maple syrup as well. Not much hop style citrus or pine aromas.

Taste: There is taste of coffee, chocolate, and maple syrup. Also, some vanilla, coffee, and roasted malt flavors. They are more balanced than I expected from the aroma. Flavors are very bold. There is a strong alcohol presence that matches 8.2% advertised. A sweet chocolate, and vanilla aftertaste with edge of maple syrup, that is really enjoyable.

Mouth-feel: Very thick, but with an extremely smooth and creamy body.

This is a very good Milk Stout, and one of the best I have ever drank. It has a variety of flavors that adds a nice complexity to the beer. The balance of flavors is outstanding. The flavors of chocolate and maple syrup nicely balance the bitter coffee and the bourbon flavor. This is very smooth and enjoyable to drink. I have enjoyed all the beers I've bought at Tree House, and I would buy this again.

L - muddy brown murk cascading into a hard line between silty brown and mocha cold foam. Layers of legs. She's a beaut, Clark.

S - manages to avoid assailing the nostrils, gently unwrapping the chocolatey feast inside. Molasses, tree bark, and Hershey's milk chocolate.

T - decadence in its rawest form. Chocolate cream pie, toasted marshmallows, and creme brulee. Beetus in a bottle.

F - thikk like bisquikk. Oh lawd she she comin'.

O - cot dang. It's not just stronger, it's sweeter. It's more potent in every way, while still retaining the delightful balance of Clarity.

Having tasted Moment of Clarity a few days prior which was absolutely fantastic, this one seems like a B-list celebrity to MoC's A-lister status given all the similarities in adjuncts between the two. Pours pitch black with lots of foamy, cream-colored head from not-that-aggressive of a pour. Smells of faint maple, dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is coffee-forward followed by dark chocolate (this is vice versa for MoC) and slight maple. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated and somewhat slick. Finish is dark chocolate and lingering bitterness.
