16oz can poured into a snifter.
A: Dull golden color, completely opaque with that swap water haze you'd expect. Creamy white head retains very well. Chunky gobs of lacing.
S: Under ripe mango, peach, orange juice, star fruit, pineapple. Green grass and a bit of oily spice. Doughy and nougaty malt base with a hint of toasty grain.
T: Gooey, melty marshmallow up front- in a fluffernutter sort of way. That quickly gives way to the hopping, which hits just as the nose suggested. Under ripe mango, peach, orange juice, and pineapple. Green and grassy. Then it goes oily and bitter with earthy notes of hemp seed and pine. Brush of alcohol. Toasty grain and a little fried dough from the malt base. Bitterness is bracing. Finish is doughy and nougaty with lingering bitter and earthy/piney hops.
M: Medium-full body. Fluffy and chewy with a pleasant creamy texture at its core. Moderately bracing hop astringency. Well carbonated.
O: Curiously I really don't get much of any marshmallow on the nose and would not clock it on smell alone. It does unmistakably manifest itself in taste, but it does not overpower. I think it is integrated about as well as it can be. Still, it doesn't really feel like it belongs. It feels like the hop bill here is a bit different than regular Julius, too. I get a good few notches more bitterness and more American c-hop sort of earthy/piney flavors. I'm left wondering if it is a different hop bill, or if throwing marshmallow into the mix just coaxes those flavors out more. Overall it isn't bad, but it doesn't do much for me conceptually or otherwise. It certainly isn't better than regular Julius and feels more like a mediocre experiment rather than something special I'd go out of my way to get.

Pours hazy, orange gold in color with one third inch head. Taste is mango, orange juice, and strong marshmallow. Medium light body, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. Nice rendering, strong marshmallow taste.

Picked up two cans at Tree House Brewery in Sandwich, Massachusetts for about thirteen dollars. My three hundred and ninety ninth brew reviewed from these guys. No canned on date that I can decipher. Good...decadent....
