Sweet caramel and toffee malty, a hint of orange bitters, dark fruity plums, a hint of cinnamon, and a bourbon barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a caramel and vanilla cupcake garnished with orange zest, a hint of all-spice, and a bourbon barrel finish. This is pretty good...nothing pops out or makes itself known. I appreciate the out=of=the-box thinking, but I'm not sure what the amburana wood and orange peel really did here.

Pours a deep reddish brown, with a sizeable tan head that dissipates quickly. Lots of legs are left on the glass when swirled. Big candied orange and fig, with vanilla, cherry, and red wine following, and hints of charred wood, cinnamon, and molasses on the nose. The flavor has a lot of the same, but with a nice, surprisingly balancing bitterness from the orange peel. It actually drinks quite a bit like a cocktail balanced with orange bitters! The mouthfeel is super full, round, and mouth coating. It finishes quite dry despite all the sweetness up front!
