What do you do when something you love is in scarce supply? When demand outweighs supply? Faced with the reality that we will never be able to acquire all the Nelson Sauvin of our dreams, we decided to reserve the lion's share of our Nelson allotment for this magnificent IPA: Ghost Orchid. Named after the highly coveted but endangered flower, this ode to one of the most unique hop varieties is about relishing a rarity.
What it smells and tastes like: This aromatic and delicious beer is all about low bitterness and huge flavour, with notes of mandarin orange, white grape, and pine.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned July 3/25. My 27th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 1st for 2026. Lovingly embraced and recommended by Gracie the cat...

So, i used to not really like these IPA Juice flavored hoppy beers, but lately I think I've changed my mind, sometime in very late 2024 and have come to acquire a taste for these beers now. Ghost Orchid is an example of a really good IPA beer. I used to drink only lager and stouts until some Kool Kid with a man bun told me to drink some IPA's, of which i did and thought they were alright...and then started looking for IPA's online and in the store.
Hazy, orange citrous like beer but with a twist. Looks like fresh orange juice maybe, but maybe not.
I could have one of these in the morning...screw the breakfast coffee beers, i never liked them in the morning anyway. I'm making citrous IPA the new breakfast beer. Not stouts.
I'm dead serious. Drink Ghost Orchid for breakfast and pair it with toast eggs and bacon. You won't have a bad day.
To hell with diet BS. Eat what you want (limit junk food), drink what you want (in moderation.)
I'd buy it again.... i bought it online from Bellwoods website.
Anyways, awesome beer. Winner in my book. I'll keep an eye out, eh.
I had Ratclops and Ghost Orchid right after one another....both very similar but i think Ratclops is slightly better. They are basically the same but Ratclops has a slightly lower after taste. I keep sipping ghost Orchid to make sure.
Both are really good, but if someone put a gun to my head, I'd say take Ratclops Bro!... lol
Solid buy and I keep looking line but they are out of stock. Will get you next time Ghost Orchid. I'm keeping an eye out.

Golden hazy with a finger of white head. Smells of pineapple, and a slight dank note. The taste follows the nose. Very light carbonation and a light mouth feel. I got this in Stratford Ontario where I am drinking in July 26, 2023.

Pours a hazy pale yellow color. Medium head formation and retention. Dry, citrusyon the nose. Stone fruite, white grape, melon, citrusy taste. This IPA does a great job showcasing Nelson Sauvin hops!

Pours a pale uniformly cloudy/milky yellow with three fingers of creamy tight bubbly white head.
Nose hit with tropical aromas - pineapple - a bit of pine and pithy citrus; almost vanilla like floral.
Tastes of juicy sweet pineapple, citrus, a touch of a peachy flavour; there is some piney and pithy bitterness at the back.
Medium mouthfeel with the sharpness of bright carbonation with the pithy hop sitting briefly on the palate.

Bellwoods Brewery 'Ghost Orchid IPA' @ 6.3% , served from a 473 ml can
A-pour is a pale yellow gold from the can to a hazy yellow gold in the glass with a medium size white head leaving a streaky lace along the tulip
S-dank , fruity , pine resin , (Nelson Sauvin & Simcoe) hops
T-tart citrus peel , big bitterness lingers on the palate
MF-ok carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-wanted more from this beer , bit dissapointing , should be classified as NE IPA

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 22 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours hazy, turbid and pale yellow in colour, initially capped with nearly an inch of soapy, foamy white head that recedes within a couple of minutes' time. A snaking, messy ring of lace is deposited in its wake, with a frothy collar also left behind - looks fine to me. Fruity aroma of lemon, grape and juicy overripe peach, accented by lesser notes of pine, white wine and grassy, floral hops - potent, appealing bouquet.
A great hazy IPA - perhaps a little understated in terms of intensity, but the flavours are there and they're solid. I'm getting white grape, passion fruit and nectarine at the front end, backed by an oaty sweetness that remains as a background presence throughout the sip. Hints of lemon, pine needles and tangerine later on, with grassy, floral hops and some very light, piney, pithy bitterness fading into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with low-ish carbonation that limply nudges against the surface of the palate; feels slick, smooth, soft and plush on the tongue. It's very drinkable for an IPA - low bitterness, reasonable abv, and largely lacking that hop acidity/'burn' that some hazy IPAs struggle with.
Final Grade: 4.25, an excellent A-. Nelson Sauvin is a relatively uncommon hop, which is a shame because I seem to love every single NS-hopped pale ale that I stumble upon. Ghost Orchid is of course no exception, displaying this hop's flavours and aromas quite well, while the supplementary hops help add some citrusy, piney facets to the experience. Like any Bellwoods' product, the price may be prohibitive for everyday drinking, but I'd fork over five bucks a couple times a month to enjoy this again.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $5 CDN. Very fresh canning date of 2/22/2022.
Appearance - Hazy, pale golden straw colored brew with a finger of white head. Pretty solid head retention, a little lacing. Good looking brew,
Smell - Not a terribly robust nose, but lemon and passionfruit seem to be the stars with a floral bouquet backing it up.
Taste - A little weedy a little citrusy, some lemon and passionfruit again, but nothing else really standing out.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, nice crisp carbonation, best part of this brew.
Overall - A little disappointing given the Bellwoods rep, the cost etc. Ghost Orchid is still a pretty good IPA, but certainly not the best from Bellwoods.
