He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme.

Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification.

This limited edition Jelly King variant was conditioned on loads of strawberry, peach, raspberry, blackberry and lemon.

500 mL bottle from the LCBO; dated Feb 10 2025 and served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy and turbid, its reddish coral pink-hued body supporting one finger of creamy, foamy pale pink-tinged head. It lasts for two minutes or so as it's swiftly whittled down to a thin collar and wispy film on the surface; some attractive swaths of arcing lace are deposited after each sip. Plenty of sugary lemonade on the nose, with raspberry and strawberry also easily discerned; there's a touch of lactic character, but it's minimal.

Good flavours, but definitely on the sweet side for a kettle sour. Raspberry lemonade dominates, with lesser hints of peach, wheaty malts and lemon juice; blackberry is also briefly apparent on the back end. Tart, sugary lemonade conclusion that lingers for a few seconds into a sweet/sour aftertaste. Medium in body, with moderately low carbonation that adds some spritz to this brew's generally smooth, soft mouthfeel. Refreshing and surprisingly drinkable, but one bottle is probably enough for me on any given night.

Final Grade: 4.05, an A-. Pink Lemonade is a pretty solid kettle sour, and arguably one of the most approachable Jelly Kings in Bellwoods' portfolio. It's rather sugary, with restrained sourness and very little funk factor - so if you were hoping for a puckeringly acidic sour, you will likely need to look elsewhere. I enjoyed my glass, and I think they nailed the pink lemonade vibe/aesthetic... but it's easily one of the 'tamer' JKs I've had so far. For that reason, I can't rank it as highly as some of the more interesting & unique brews in this family of sours - though I'll still encourage all fruited sour fans to seek out and try this for themselves.

At my lady Pamela's house; bottled and chilled, 500mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My sixth beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and first for 2025

Pours maybe 2 fingers of foam that keeps some lacing to it. Deep pink color. Smells fruity and a bit lemony. Taste is mostly sweet and sour tart raspberry with lemon juice.
Not artificial tasting or overly sweet at all. Very natural and real fruit tasting.
It's a pretty good one and if you enjoy their other Jelly King beers then you should like this one too. I prefer most of their other Jelly Kings over this one, but it's still a good one and will be considered on my next order if still available.

Yes they got the colour in through berries rather than food colour, best I can say. sweet counterbalance to any tartness.
