473 mL can from the brewery; dated Oct 28 2025 and served barely chilled.
Pours a hazy pale golden colour, generating less than a finger of soapy white foam that fades within a minute or two. A tight collar of creamy suds is the only remnant of significance, though it does leave behind a decent swath of lace with each tilt of the glass. I'm mostly getting grapefruit on the nose, though there are also suggestions of peach, lime & passion fruit, as well as a dank, herbal note.
It's tasty, but a little lacking in terms of complexity. I'm getting pink grapefruit and lime at the forefront, supported by hints of grainy pale malts and steel cut oat sweetness. Hints of stone fruit & passion fruit crop up by mid-sip, concluding with hints of melon rind and some low-level dank, floral hop bitterness. Lightly floral aftertaste that lingers a bit before trending off-dry. Medium-full in body, with middling carbonation levels that lend some spritz to this brew's soft, smooth & fulfilling mouthfeel. Quite quaffable, but not likely to maintain my interest all night - one serving per session seems adequate.
Final Grade: 4.09, an A-. Monogamy Riwaka is not the most memorable iteration in this series of Bellwoods IPAs, but I do think it's an otherwise solid hazy IPA in its own right. My main issue with this brew is that it's rather two-dimensional - you've got the citrus/grapefruit flavour, and a little bit of a tropical fruitiness, but not a whole lot else going on beyond that. That being said, I love grapefruit, which makes it difficult for me to summon all that much criticism. Good stuff - certainly worth picking up the next time they brew a fresh batch.

Poured no foam. Yellow orange coloring. Smells like floral mango and pineapple.
Tastes a little like hoppy with floral resin, hints of lemon and a light grain on the after taste.
It's not bad at all but not my favorite.
