500 mL bottle from the LCBO; dated Sep 9 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy goldenrod colour; a deliberately rough pour kicks up an inch of tight, foamy, off white-tinged head. Within two or three minutes, it has disintegrated completely, with a wispy-thin collar being the only survivor; looks normal so far. The aroma is mildly sweet and fruity, with green mango and tangerine being the main takeaways. There's also hints of Meyer lemon, orange peel, wheat and a modest whiff of lactic funk.
Tasty stuff - quite tart, but with some nice juicy-sweet qualities to keep the profile in check. Tangerine tends to dominate, with the mango taking more of a backseat; aside from that, there's also flavours of stone fruit, lemon, wheat and floral hops. Finishes with mango and lactic acidity dissipating into a citrusy, slightly funky aftertaste that doesn't linger. Medium in body, with lively carbonation that prickles the palate continuously during each sip, adding a crisp, refreshing bite to the mouthfeel; goes down smooth, and it's quite drinkable for the style.
Final Grade: 4.24, a solid A-. These two fruits pair nicely together, making for an excellent fruited sour with just the right ratio of sweet/juicy and citrusy-sour characteristics. That being said, Mango & Tangerine is nowhere near my favourite Jelly King - speaking in general, it's a great fruited sour, but if you're comparing it to some of the better JK variants then it starts to look more like a middling effort. A bit more mango flavour probably wouldn't hurt... but it might also disrupt its balance, so maybe not. Well worth looking for if you're seeking out a potent sour that doesn't skimp on the citrus flavours.

Pours the color of orange juice. Taste is light and easy to drink. Little bit on the sour and tart side, but I like that. I don't want my drinks artificially sweet or fake tasting. This tastes natural and home made even. I dig it. I'm getting tangerine a lot more than mango on this one. I just came from their Mango and Vanilla which is heavy on the mango.
I'm not getting any alcohol taste, and i want to stress that Bellwoods are masters at hiding alcohol. I would buy this "beer" again.
