This limited edition Jelly King was dosed with lime juice (for extra zesty acidity), fresh habanero peppers (for a balanced kick of spice) and salt (duh), plus the addition of juicy ripe mango.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 19 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy, translucent yellow-orange colour, stirring up less than a finger of soapy, yellow-tinged head that obliterates itself within sixty seconds. A barren surface remains, without a speck of lace to be seen - not unusual for a salted kettle sour, I suppose. On the nose, there's a pungent undercurrent of habanero peppers that tickles the nostrils, alongside ripe mango, unripe stone fruit and moderately funky lactic notes. Subtle hints of lime juice and lemon are also discernible, with suggestions of floral hops, wheaty malts and brine.
Tasty stuff: seems less sour than most JK variants, and quite a bit juicier than the base Spicy Margarita variant. Ripe mango right off the bat, with salted lime, apricot and habanero pepper not far behind; the latter adds a slight twinge of heat that outlasts the sip. Hints of wheaty, bready malts and floral hops are easily lost on the back end, with mild lactic sourness effortlessly brushed aside by the mango and lime zest that linger into a slightly salty, weakly spicy aftertaste. Very restrained heat considering that they used habanero; even the very sensitive should find this tolerable. Medium-full bodied, with average carbonation that lends some bite to this light sour ale's somewhat juicy mouthfeel; gives you the sticky lips. Surprisingly drinkable, but two servings per night would be my limit.
Final Grade: 4.14, an A-. Jelly King Spicy Mango Margarita is a fun fruited sour that I plan to seek out again this summer - I'd definitely recommend this to others. I was expecting it to be very similar to the Spicy Margarita variant, but the addition of the mango makes for a noticeably sweeter & juicier Jelly King experience. It also helps to temper (or maybe just distract from) the lactic sourness - which may or may not be a plus, depending on personal preference. I think the differences are largely positive, though if you're specifically craving a 'margarita sour', you might want to stick with the standard non-mango version.
