A long awaited collab with Mëllon Brasserie, our dear friends from Montreal! We've been fond of this crew for a while now and fond of their beer ever since they started brewing, so when they asked us over the winter if we'd be interested in a collaboration, we didn't hesitate.

Super Light Super Léger is an unbelievably crushable 3.3% pilsner that smells of fresh April rains, lemon twists and sparkling white grape juice, making it a perfect drink for the warming weather.

Draft: Poured a clear golden yellow color lager with a large white foamy head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma of cereal notes with some light dry hoppy notes and faint residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of clean cereal notes with some faint floral dry hoppy notes and a mostly semi-dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Great lager with excellent drinkability that hopefully will be brewed often.

473 mL can from the brewery; dated Apr 10 2026 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear straw yellow colour, briefly supporting half an inch of tight, foamy white head that falters within ninety seconds or so. A thin collar and a filmy cap live on, with scant lace production; looks fine for a light beer. Muted aroma of grainy pale malts, lemon and whole grain bread.

It's well-constructed, but doesn't do much for me personally. I'm getting grainy pale malts, grain husks and bread crust flavours, alongside hints of lemon. A bit earthier & more herbal on the back end, with a modest smack of noble hop bitterness tying things up nicely; mild citrus and graininess fade into the aftertaste. Light in body, with middling carbonation that contributes to this lager's smooth, crisp feel. Very easy to toss back - I could drink a few of these in a row, but not at the price they're charging.

Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. While I do usually make an effort to grade to style, this beer is so light that it makes more sense to compare it to a light lager rather than a pilsner. I mean, let's be honest: no 3.3% pilsner is ever going to match up to a normal-strength pils, no matter how talented the brewer might be. That being said, Super Light Super Léger is more flavourful than your typical light lager, particularly in the hop department... but even if it were less than $4.65 per can, I don't think it's a brew I'd be all that interested in drinking on a regular basis.
