A mahogany colored Belgian farmhouse ale. Fresh aroma of berries and spice, flavours of biscuit, caramel & nuts, and a characteristic sharp dry finish.

Thanks to Andrew for this bottle. Bottled on Oct 24/12.
A - Deep brown, almost opaque with a dark copper glow around the edges. A thin layer of light brown head formed and reduced to a few bubbles.
S - A good mix of clove, caramel, Belgian yeast, brown sugar and a very slight touch of funk.
T - Belgian yeast and clove are dominant up front with a big dryness. Some brown sugar, caramel, bready notes and a slight sweetness are present. Very light banana and barnyard funk notes in the background.
M - Medium body. Creamy. Moderate carbonation.

Pours a dark mahogony with a tan foamy head, lots of lacing. Nose is bread, spices, malt, yeast, brown sugar, faint hops and hint of funk. Taste is into brown ale territory, malt base with a good amount of spices coming through, still a bit of a belgian yeast, banana notes, bready. Mouthfeel is drying, clean sharp medium bodied.
Interesting beer, really feels like a "fall-warmer".

On tap at the brewpub. Black bodied no head coca cola and spicy smell very inviting. Lots of hops to carry taste through. spicy light mouthfeel, licorice and light strawberry, that packs an spicy heat to finish. Smewhat winter warmer-ish. Imaginative and worth a try.

Beer is brown, darker than expected given the style. Moderate to large off-white head. Good retention and great lacing.
Smell is not terribly strong. Yeast, banana, spices and some bread.
Taste contains banana, spices, yeast and wheat. Strikes me as a hybrid between a saison and a dunkelweizen. Quite dry, particularly in the finish.
Medium bodied, moderately carbonated. A bit sticky.
Overall, enjoyable, though I prefer Bellwoods' Farmhouse saison to this one.
