Poured a rich, dark brownish black color that was tinted red around the edges when held to the light. Head was a one finger off-white that receded to a nice cap of foam. Very good looking, a nice dry stout appearance. Scents of rich roasted malt, cocoa, black coffee, and hints of dark chocolate. A nice stout aroma that is nice and mingled and bold. Quite good. Flavor begins with roast malt, moving into some black coffee, and very, very faint toffee in the background alongside some nutty and roasted undertones, mostly roasted. A nice dry bitterness is present throughout with a dry and toasty finish and aftertaste. A good, flavorful and balanced Irish Dry Stout with a greater complexity and depth of flavor than Guinness. Mouthfeel is light bodied, slightly watery and drying with low carbonation. Quite easy to drink and has the feel of a good non-nitro Irish Dry. Overall this is a good Irish Dry Stout with an excellent aroma and good flavor that beats the more readily available mass market Irish Dry Stouts by a mile. A really good offering from Dragoon.

Sampled on tap at Dragoon a few times now. Jet black appearance with medium thick foam. Aroma of roasted malts with suggestions of coffee and dark chocolate.

The taste has a nice roasted malt character, not too sweet, that finishes clean and dry with a decent bitterness. The alcohol is low and the body is smooth with a moderate thickness. Solid, appropriate carbonation.

One of my favorite beers so far from Dragoon. There is a lot of flavor for such a drinkable, low alcohol beer, and this is a lower ABV than their Session ale. The dry, roasty malt is plain delicious, and like all of Dragoon's beers there is good balance and attenuation. Sad this is probably a March release only, because it could satisfy year-round in my opinion.
