The Heiress is our take on a classic Bohemian pilsner. Refreshing and effervescent with a snow-white head, its earthy and floral with a clean, bitter finish. It’s the perfect beer for fans of traditional pilsners…and for converting people whose only reference-point for pilsners are the adjunct versions sold 24 to a box.

Smells quite yeasty. A little too yeasty. I can also smell citrus, grass, and slight floral notes. Tastes kinda awkward. Pretty watery. Initial flavor is citrus and honey/caramel malts. There’s yeast and a musty taste of old furniture. Flower stems, vague flowers (mostly rose), and a weird unpleasant flavor on the aftertaste. The synergy on the aftertaste is really off. There’s a vague unpleasant aroma permeating the whole experience. I was looking forward to this because I like this brewery and European pilsners are my go-to beer. Yeah… oh well. Still have yet to find an American brewery that can properly do justice to a Pilsner. We will see…

Pint from draft for a reasonable $7.50, especially in Old Town SD. Bready, barny, proper grain bill, fruity throughout. Just a hint of hops in the finish to round it out nicely. Rich flavor but easy drinking. For an American take on a Czech Pils this is really nice. Would drink again.

I think I scored some Societe from Berkeley Bowl? Don't think it was mail order, but man Summer 2020 was a blur for a guy in the sticks getting all kinds of beer shipped to his doorstep and a fully functional softball league. Consumption driven trends.
Anyways, pours that familiar golden color with good clarity. Relatively smallish 1/4" white head. The aroma hits those grassy italian pilsner like levels of noble hopping. The yeast is significant and well received. Sulphur grass.
Taste is pretty nice, has the pilsner malt indicative of style, has a brisk carbonation level combining with the noble hops to give that crisp feel we're almost always looking for in a pilsner. Has a light sourdough bread aspect to it while still keeping that crisply toasted bread notion. Its a big pilsner that doesn't resort to imperializing itself, which is a bonus.
Serious reviewers seem to really dig this and I'm no different. I think these were only $3 a can too.

Spent way too much money on a bunch of beer from North Park Beer Company, Windmill Farms and Bine & Vine. Woof. Was surprised that I hadn’t had this yet. I generally think Societe is a bit overrated overall, but I’m always happy to try new pilsners. The description on their website read, “The Heiress is our take on a classic Bohemian pilsner. Refreshing and effervescent with a snow-white head, its earthy and floral with a clean, bitter finish. Poured a golden clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the sides and bottom of the glass at different speeds. Outstanding uneven foamy lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled white bread, Noble hops, Czech Saaz, dry grass, biscuit, corn cereal, floral and earthy pilsner malt. Very clean. More corn and sourdough bread from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted slightly better than the nose. In order Czech Saaz, pepper, dry grass, floral, white bread, biscuit, cracker, Cheerios and earthy pilsner malt. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Clean, dry finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just an excellent pilsner. Will be having more of this in the future. (Overall - 4.25)

Back in the the day, Raul would come home from high school, maybe play some Counter Strike, and crush some newbs. And then along the way he’d ax his mama to make him a quesadilla. Now, at the time, that quesadilla was fine and dandy. But if I had it today... What your main man is trying to say is that back in the day, Kraft neon yellow cheese and some podunk Guerrero tortillas filled with preservatives would do the trick. But now that your boy’s palate is platinum? Not so much. Don’t get the playa wrong, if I was struggling’, I’d happily take one of those ‘dilla’s right now. But if I had the choice, organic and rbst free is the way to go! And The Heiress? It’s pretty much aite like you are stoned in 2001 and scoring head shots.

Very, very good pilsner, goldenrod w/ a thin layer of bubbly foam, satisfying noble hop character, satisfying pils malt character, pretty much how you want a pilsner to be.

precisely the kind of fully flavored and clean pilsener lager you would expect these guys to make. nothing really to set it apart, but thats not really the point with these. i found this to be a near textbook american take on the style, really well done, really easy drinking. there is a nice fresh cereal grain element here, a belgian pils type malt, mild but distinct, and perhaps a little more of a hop nose than we are used to in some of the imports, but perhaps also a product of domestic freshness, not recipe alteration. the flavor is full but the finish is clean, somewhat bitter, but also bready from the malt and from the lager yeast, which gives it not only a dryness, but a fluffy sort of mouthfeel as well, slightly larger than traditional, but i love that aspect, especially this time of year. fantastic carbonation too, it really sings. i will remember this beer for its quality, potential for food pairings, and somewhat predictable nature. societe continues to impress me with every beer i try from them...
