This easy drinking IPA clocks in at a surprising 7.5%, and is packed with Citra, Comet, and Idaho 7 hops. This tropical mouth party is bursting with vibrant notes of apricot, nectarine, and mango, accompanied by some underlying resinous and citrus characters.

Threw this in with some old favorites from Society and thought why not, they make good hoppy stuff. Pours a light brass/bronze like color, mild haziness to it, not as "clean" appearance wise as the commercial tug job on the can would have you believe, nice 3/5" white head with good retention. Aroma dabbles in the tropical, citrus and stone fruit realms in what smells like mostly the orange/yellow combos like nectarine, mango and orange.

Taste is pushed by a hearty bitterness that is accompanied by more of that hop fruit triumvirate. Lightly bready body contributes nicely to the mouth feel that comes off around 70 ibu, both Comet and Idaho 7 work as bittering hops in my neck of the woods and at this point, I definitely get more of their clean descriptor for the mouth feel moreso than the appearance. Its not my favorite hoppy beer from them, but was worth a try and the uniqueness of Comet and Idaho 7 works decently.

Straw hued pour with a decent head that dissipated into an interesting ring of foam. This has a very bready nose for an IPA. Sure there's a pine forest happening here too but I was taken aback by the bread. The palate improves greatly on the aroma. Power packed pine and citrus with that Citra, Comet and Idaho 7 combination. Plenty of resin, ripe tropical fruit, dank earthiness and tangerine citrus come through. Finishes with a nice balance of smooth and bitter

3 week old can into a tulip glass.

L: Bright golden with 2 fingers of variable density white head with good retention and left mixed lacing.

S: Citrus and pine, old school West Coast profile.

T: Follows nose well, finishes with moderate bitterness that lingers pleasantly.

F: Low-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, slick on the tongue and swallow. Drinks very crisp for the ABV.

O: I'd gladly drink this with frequency if it was in my distro. Really well done West Coast IPA.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: May 29, 2020
Consumed: June 7, 2020
Misc.: Canned on May 22, 2020

Spent way too much money on a bunch of beer from North Park Beer Company, Windmill Farms and Bine & Vine. Woof. Description from Bine & Vine had it at, “This easy drinking IPA clocks in at a surprising 7.5%, and is packed with Citra, Comet, and Idaho 7 hops. This tropical mouth party is bursting with vibrant notes of apricot, nectarine, and mango, accompanied by some underlying resinous and citrus characters.” Not a big fan of Idaho 7, but picked this up before I saw it was in the beer.

Poured a gold-to-amber color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubble streams creeping up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Perfect retention. Looked so good out of the glass. (Sight - 5.00)

Smelled dank Idaho 7, mango, nectarine, apricot, peach skin, pine, dank resin, Citra, lemon, grapefruit, orange, papaya, herbal and tea. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted even better than the nose. In order got Idaho 7, nectarine, apricot, peach, mango, dank resin, pine, Citra, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, papaya, herbal and tea. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Damn. Admittedly not the biggest Societe fan and definitely not an Idaho 7 fan, but this was an excellent IPA. (Overall - 4.25)

I’ve been enjoying this one. Classic west coast in appearance, with an easygoing, gently hopped aroma. Hints of wine grape and peach purée come across, along with a touch of orange peel on the sip.

This is extremely agreeable to quaff. I would have thought it was a hoppy lager as I had a couple of sips. Then I turned the can around the right way to see the name and information. It does have a bitter edge that creeps up as you drink, but it's quite restrained for these days and times.

Appearance is handsome with clear yellow brew topped by stiff peaks of white foam in the Bacchus glass. Aromatic with lime, green melon, and cucumber. There is a pleasing dose of malty sugar with a crisp finish. Less acidic than a lot of current IPAs. Flavors are tropical fruit and resins with a lush mouthfeel. From the 16 oz can. Hope to get more of this.

Imagine that dude that got shot out of a cannon and into a net - yeah, that dude. Well, this beer is like that: it’s firing on all damn cylinders, and then it lands perfectly in the net like Pete Sampras messing up on match point. It’s bright, it’s clean, it’s tropical...

Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that Raul is feelin’ it!
