Blunt Object is an immovable brute of juicy hops. The forceful ABV and unyielding nectar aroma of this specimen echo an earlier era of huge IPAs.

Went to Windmill Farms and came away with nine solo cans, and two 6-packs. Bine & Vine’s website called it “Blunt Object is an immovable brute of juicy hops. The forceful ABV and unyielding nectar aroma of this specimen echo an earlier era of huge IPAs.” Hops mentioned were Citra, Comet, Idaho 7, Centennial & Mosaic.

Poured a medium clear color with 6-to-7 fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. Almost perfect foamy layered lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled like an old school West Coast IPA. In order got garlic, onion, dank pine, resin, black pepper, Comet, Citra, Centennial, grapefruit, lime, Idaho 7, herbal, viney vegetable and tea. About the same out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got onion, garlic, dank resin, pine, black pepper, Comet, Citra, Centennial, bitter grapefruit rind, lime, Idaho 7, herbal, viney vegetable and tea. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

This was an interesting beer. Really old school West Coast IPA, but I liked it overall. Lots going on. (Overall - 4.00)

Pours a bright and brilliant yellow, with a solid two finger head, leaving good lacing. Aroma is wonderfully pine and citrus with a hint of lemon. Taste is clean, with a pine, orange and lemon profile. Moderately bodied, nicely hopped, this is a delight to drink and shows what a DIPA can really do for the palate.

Sweet and hot with alcohol, and a drier finish with the hops searing the brain. Pours a clear yellow with long lasting foam in the Bacchus tumbler. Aroma of citrus and more citrus. Tastes of lemon with a shot of orange, plus the grapefruit finish. More than average bitterness. This is quite sippable, but more of an amped up regular IPA dosed with grain alcohol, taste like. From the 16 oz can purchased at the beer store. Dated 11/18/22.

Been awhile since a DIPA made me say "Damn!"...but this one did. Threads the needle between old school West Coast profile and more recent tropical hops. Nose isn't super prominent, but the taste has lots of dynamic depth. Lots of citrus in the front, tropical and berry elements manifest as it warms. Limited, if any, pine notes. Plenty of restrained bitterness, lingers pleasantly on the palate with some drying. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, hides the ABV very well with just a subtle tingle on the tongue.

Very, very nice for my palate and preferences. I'm going to grab more tomorrow.
