The amethyst skies of our youth inspired us to load this beer full of Oregon blackberries and red raspberries, taking it to a place of other-worldly decadence. Intense juiciness with the combination of saison yeast, this is the perfect beer for a beautiful, summer day.

An interesting tart.
Looks like the tight bubbles and foam often seen in saisons; but I'd like a little protein dance to go with the show.
Smells mostly of malt, although I detect some berries. I think this may be the first ale I've had with blackberries (raspberries are common and seem sweeter.) So, I'm thinking the blackberries are the distinctive tart. A pretty good yeast brings all this together in the Taste and the tart lingers from beginning to end. Finishes refreshing. While I would not pair Cosmic Ascent with my favorite foods (a test of a really good saison in my book), Cosmic Ascent would do at the end of a summer day and, hopefully, with a variety of appetizers.
My first Gigantic, I went on their website and these guys are pretty funny most of the time and seem to have fun all of the time. While I want to try two of their Top 10 BA rated beers that are Belgian-inspired, Gigantic clearly makes their money in the Northwest IPA irreverent, artistic mode. That is typical of Portland brewers, almost a style of their own. Some Big OA Hugs for that.
