neat choice for these guys for the occasion, but its not a particularly special beer, no wild or rustic yeast of any interest, almost overly clean and belgian to me, not the type of saison i like to drink, but an objectively well made brew that is nice for this summer weather we are finally getting. blonde and lively headed from the tap, good clarity and shine, high tone esters right away to me, green pear, sauternes, clove, honey, jasmine, and lemon dish soap, biscuity malt underneath, paler wheat, minerals and bread, possible noble hops but this isnt hoppy per se. the flavor is yeast dominated too, more french or belgian to me than farmy, some brett and time in oak would be cool, but that isnt what this is. sliced banana mushed up by babys hands, green grape, white pepper, clove again, and just a little grain derived sweetness running through it. its simple but effective, almost more in that belgian golden ale space, not as exotic or intriguing on the ferment as i like, but they did a good job keeping this tidy and i think there is good balance, a little late onset bitterness from the hops adding some needed abruptness to it on the swallow. fresh tasting, summery, european, excellent carbonation, just a bit basic. nice offering overall.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Cloudy golden pour, soft, tight white head. Aroma is yeasty, bready. Taste is sweet, Fresh bread and butter, light savory notes follow.
