just my second beer from these guys, cool to see it on tap here in colorado. its an odd beer, parts of it i love, others i dont. its really sour, a white vinegar acidic sharpness all the way through it, a flanders red type profile without the oak or grain depth, and for me its a little much, hard to drink even a glass of, and it warms up aggressively too. that said, its made with mango and pineapple, and i think these fruits are amazing in here, about as authentic and genuine as i have known in beer, and they come after the acidity is done, almost on the swallow, a really late onset for flavors like these which is cool, and the mango and pineapple are just so natural, i think a little more mango forward, juicy and ripe, the real thing! its a shame that it has to be so sour and these fruits cant just be allowed to lead the way, but they save this from being on the edge of undrinkable for me. awesome carbonation and a general lightness for how strong it is too, but i cant get past all this acidity, it really is a bit out of whack. cool use of the fruits though, and enough to have me excited to try more of their stuff if it comes around!

This is Flemish-style sour, not a saison. Conditioned on apricots and peaches. Has a bit too much lacto / vinegar notes, the peach is there but gets bullied by the sourness. Has a astringent wine tannin note as well.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company "Redenen"
$3/4 oz. at the brewery on 18 April 2018
Notes: Barrel-aged saison. 3 yr old barrels from "Logic & Reason Saison" conditioned with peaches and mangoes. Hazy golden body - looks like juice. Short head of white. Mild funky, tart, oaky, and fruity in the nose. The flavor follows with some additional rotting apple, and an unfortunate hint of acetone - it is light though, and I'm not sure an untrained palate would pick it up. I'm willing to overlook it in my score as it's that limited. It has an acidic, dry finish but it's not that bitter. Light-medium in body and gently crisp. Really nicely balanced and interesting. Worth seeking out.
