Style: Cream Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.40%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Often called your typical American lawnmower beer, cream ales are not unlike their American light lager cousin. Brewed with American 2 & 6 Row Barley, Flaked Maize, a touch of Munich malt, and of course, sugar, Croydon Cream Ale is light, refreshing, and easy to drink. We also use American Cluster and Czech Saaz hops that give it a touch of hop bitterness and a hint of floral aromatics.

Refreshing cream ale. Only complaint is the finish gets a little too sweet as it warms

Mostly clear yellow color with a thin white head that leaves decent lacing.

Clean aroma with bready malts and classic Saaz hops. Similar taste, like a bready pilsner with a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation.

Very clean and refreshing.

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is clean grain, grass, cereal, and light sugar. Light bodied, slightly sweet, with high carbonation. Makes for a great sessionable cream ale. Could see this being a summer staple.

I saw this at the beer store behind the counter in a box labeled "past date, drain". I volunteered jokingly to take it home and dump it. Surprisingly this led to a free sixer for me!

I got it cold and the next day I tried it. For the style it was the best I ever had. I was impressed it was like super highlife! Refreshing, quenching and clean. This will have a definite locked in spot in my summer beer rotation!

Pretty lackluster and boring but was a better low abv option than comparable alcohol content macro offerings. Not by a whole lot though.

Had this on 2016-12-31 in Columbia, PA from a 12oz can.

A - Clear yellow-gold with a 1.5-finger white head and moderate lace.

S - Mild aromas of grain and sweet floral.

T - Lightly-toasted white bread, light dash of lemon, honey, grassy spice. A pleasant amount of bitterness in the finish; certainly more than something like a Yuengling Lager or a Budweiser but not as much as a German Pilsner.

M - Light-medium body and medium carbonation. Smoother and creamier than I expected.

O - Quite enjoyable after a long workout at the gym today. Even in winter, this is a good brew. I'll have it again.
