We've been itching to release this beer from the moment we first laid nostrils on this pair of peach brandy barrels, one a steely American oak ex-bourbon, and the other a luscious, soft, French oak ex-wine cask. Two agonizing years later this off-sweet component of Ryeway to Heaven layers stone fruit and maple betwixt a latticework of rye-imbued spice and firm, silken texture.

6oz pour at Hopleaf. Entering review from notes taken at the time.
Pours dark brown in color, hazy but translucent, maybe 4-5mm dense, homogenous head. Smell is dates and booze, oak, more booze.
Taste is very boozy, heavy oak astringency, some vanilla and dates.
Mouthfeel is big, fluffy, and dry. Overall...not bad, but clearly (to me) not among their best.

Pours a dark murky brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma has notes of brandy, rich malt and some boozy peach notes. Taste is rich and malty with notes of rye and dark bread. There are also notes of sweet boozy peach brandy. Feel is full bodied, warming, smooth and delicious. Not the best variant, and not one I would want a full pour of, but it’s still an enjoyable and unique beer. Not many beer would work in a peach brandy barrel - this is one of the few that does.

Had this on draft 1/28/22 @ Revolution's Taproom. This was a clear misfire, which is a rarity in the Deep Woods series. Peach schnapps, rubbing alcohol & bad vibes here. The base beer is enough to make it drinkable, if needed, but this ain't it.
