22oz blue-waxed bottle served in a tulip.
Pours black with a medium sized brown head and medium carbonation. Smell is chocolate and booze and vanilla.
Taste is booze and chocolate and vanilla. There's also something lurking in the background that doesn't seem like it belongs -- comes across a little medicinal, but I don't know what to call it.
Mouthfeel is medium, and a little oily. Overall, it's not bad.

Dark color with little head. Pleasant smell and taste. However I cannot detect a chocolate taste except at the very end and it was slight. Feel was a little watery.

Look: Two finger brown head, solid black body.
Smell : Rich cocao, vanilla, a note of coconut, mild roast.
Taste: Same as above, but with a definite oak presence. The whiskey isn't overpowering, which is nice.
Feel : Full bodied, medium carbonation. Dry, with a mild astringent finish. Nice and warming.

Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass, with a half finger khaki head that dissipates to a thin film leaving nice lacing. Aroma of sweet dark toasted malt, cocoa, whisky and hints of toffee and vanilla, nice. Flavor is dark toasted malt with a little char, oak, whiskey and cocoa. Finishes with oaky astringency, cocoa, light vanilla and whiskey, a bit boozy. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Tastes like a good malt body, and nice cocoa flavors, but thins out into the finish, where the malt is overwhelmed by woody barrel astringency with only a little residual whiskey. A bit thinner and more muted than expected for a barreled stout. Great flavor combination, with pleasant cocoa, vanilla and oak, but rather unbalanced. I liked the 1st Anniversary wheatwine more, I think. Good enough that I'll try more from this brewery when I get the chance.
