On cask at the brewery taproom, half pint
Clear, brilliant gold color, bone white colored head. Good head retention. Crackery malt and earthy hops. Taste is similar, great balance. Super smooth mouthfeel

From the cask, direct from the source. This pours a solid gold color. I picked up a hint of toast on the nose. There's a light finish with a smooth end.

Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a cask style cascade is setting into a 2 finger very fine eggshell head. Lacing rings are left. Body is a crystal clear dark brass. Beaitiful.
Aroma is cleaning biscuity with big English ale esters, fruity but not dirty. Definitely not coming from hops as a spicy earthy hop peeks it's head on the aroma.
Taste is very balanced with thay crackery almost baguette like maltiness and a traditional hoppy English bitterness. True pub beer. Boddingtons wishes it could be this good.
Feel is full and mouthcpating without being heavy. This is English pub ale! Super smooth with light but present natural fine carbonation. Drinkable but full. Monger finish.
Overall this is actually delicious. Not too hoppy, and nicely malted almost perfectly. ESBs can be a bit too hoppy for me and lagers can be too dry and crisp, but this is goldilocks. Full, but drinkable without going 100% dark.

(proper cask pint at the brewery yesterday afternoon, 4.2% abv... review copied from notes taken on my phone)
spicy... latent 'sandy' bitter... lil bit of Sandies cookie thing... clear, amber liquid... slight custard fruity note, but mild...
what I can add from memory: I did have this for the first time last Friday and it stood out as its own thing against their other Bitter, 'Fits the Bill'... this one may have been the Bitter that prompted me to ask the bartender what their water profile was, as my house Bitter closely resembles this, just haven't cask served it; apparently I'm skimping on my gypsum?? Had on cask. Clear orangey brown pour with a full white head, lacing abounds. Smell is built on citrus and leafy hops atop a light malt toast base. Taste adds some caramel and biscuit tones to the malt, but toast stornger still, hops are light and pleasant yet sneaky full. Light and full body with good crisp and dry finish. One of the best bitters I have ever had

L:. Pours a beautiful dark copper Amber with a creamy white head from the cask and thick lacing around the glass.
S:. Toasted bread mixes with a nice floral hop and a touch of caramel.
T:. Toasted bread, a nice floral hop and light to medium bitterness, a light sweet touch of caramel.
F:. Smooth light carbonation, and a medium body.
O:. This is a fantastic cask conditioned bitter.

Pours a translucent copper-brown with a finger of dense, off-white foam. Head retention is great. Aroma is bread, biscuits and raw grain. It smells very light, with a bitter presence. Flavor profile brings forward the bitterness just a touch more, along with notes of bread, biscuits and wafers. Mouth feel has a light particulate to it, with a fizzy, but not quite crisp texture. It has a medium thickness. Overall, malt forward and concluded well for a standard, session-able bitter ale.

AK w/EKG hops on cask for the Beer from the Wood series (#5). Beautiful orange hue, creamy and full mouthfeel. Strong taste of dried apricots, slightly metallic. Didn't get a lot of aroma, but that's more my nose than the beer I feel. Decent beer, but not a keeper for me.

On cask at Hogshead, listed as an ordinary bitter and has Pilgrim hops. Tawny color, decent head. Aroma is slight hops. Flavor is pretty ordinary actually with the slightest hint of plastic. Overall another let down, not sure why I didn't just get the Gilpin or Chin Wag.
