As we look ahead to the warmer days of Spring, our “Rodeo” series of Belgian beers continues with “Rodeo Clown”: a 5.1% ABV Dry-Hopped Grisette.
If you’re unfamiliar with the style, a Grisette is a Belgian Wheat Saison, light in body and refreshing in flavor. With Rodeo Clown, we generously dry-hopped the beer, which provides for a floral aroma, followed by notes of fresh lemongrass & herbs.
Light, refreshingly, and drinkable, Rodeo Clown is the perfect beer to sip (or chug) while longing for warmer spring and summer days ahead…

A: The beer is rather hazy light yellow and a little pale in color. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of lemongrass are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of lemongrass, but these aren't nearly as strong as I would have expected from the smell because there are also hints of herbs and yeast.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No dryness is perceptible.
O: This saison is extremely light and refreshing. It would make for an enjoyable beer on a hot summer day.
