Pale reddish-purple pour and body; largely opaque in the glass; no head per se but lots of bursting carbonation tickling my lips. Fine wheat cracker and musty wood scent with a vinous ester character. Rosé-like taste with a fairly dominant phenol bitterness; raspberry and strawberry notes; wood tannins. Medium body; gentle tickle on the palate; juicy note offset with prominent dryness and mild astringency.

An interesting wine-based saison but not something I'd readily go back to.

ABV: 7.4%; pouring temperature: 51.3 °F; bottling info: 12 10 25; vintage 2026

375ml corked/caged bottle served in a snulip. Bottled on 03 06 24. Pours a bit too vigorously and some of the sediment went into my glass.

Pours murky pinkish-brown, rush of head on the pour that settles into a few isolated islands that are sustained by loads of active carbonation. Smell is tart, green grapey, some funk, and some kind of lush flower.

Taste is similar, more in the fruity realm, throw in something kind of plummy and some red grapes. Funk is there, too, but pretty muted and bouncy. Definite vegetation bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and an interestingly lively creamy texture. Very nice.

Lovely shade of rosé wine with some amber in the background. Not much foam. On the tongue it's moderately carbonated but less than usual beers. Aroma is grapes with sparkling wine in the nose. This doesn't taste much like a Saison with all the fruit, but the finish is dry and that mouthfeel is distinctive. This is a little on the tart side, but stays well away from the acidic Wild Ale side. The barrel flavors are quite mild and it's only a little woody tasting. Some sweetness, very fruity taste, and quite a distinctive and flavorful brew.
