Palate Contaminants: other beer
The color is halfway between straw and gold. It's almost water-clear. Lots of medium-fine white head.
Smell has light funk, with Smarties making an appearance. Not complex. Can I call it a "friendly smell"?
Taste starts with more of the same. It is somewhat honeyed, and there's a little bit of cherry in there, which is really pleasant. Sweetness is moderate-heavy. There's a slight citrus thing, too, going with mandarins specifically. Maybe even key limes since the citrus flavor is concentrated, yet there's not a lot of it. Not much malt.
It feels like a brew that's sweeter than it actually is. It's kinda difficult for me to even say it's an alcoholic beverage. Aftertaste is light funk and candied cherries. Oddly, there's not much carbonation, although it's definitely not flat.

750ml corked/caged bottle served in a tulip. Dated 4.15.21.
Pours slightly hazy, dark amber, biggish head that settles into a smooth, creamy skin. Smell is tart, lemon and oak, vague fruitiness, slightly peachy.
Taste is tart, fairly tannic, vaguely fruity -- just a bit of a jammy character, definitely some chardonnay-ness.
Mouthfeel is light and very dry. Overall, another very good sour from Ale Apothecary.
