Being an experimental nano-brewery, we have the freedom to brew what we love to drink, whatever that may be. And what our brewer, James, loves most of all is a good ESB. This is his spin on a British classic. At 6.2% ABV and brewed with Maris Otter, a classic yeast strain, and a judicious amount of American hops, it’s the best of both worlds.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a sly white cap of a white head. Mild stringy lace. The aroma starts with some mild grassy hops and then the toffee to caramel malts. Some biscuity tones slide in nicely. The flavor leans mildly sweet through the malts. Hop portion hits decently. Mild hops to malt blend in aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Overall, this one was a pretty good Bitter that I could have again.

On tsp at brewery: Pour a burnt orange with a finger of head that fades to a collar with a few traces of lace. Very malty aroma... taste follows nose, faint bitterness.
