Smells a lot sweeter than it tastes, with rotting fruit, vanilla, malt and a hint of roast. Flavor is rather simple - malt and bitter. Body is ok. A yawner.

From a bottle at Green Owl. Not nearly as mediocre as the average BA score would have it. It's not a good looking pour. And the aromas aren't anything to write home about. But flavor in the mouth is quite good.

Served in an Ohio State shaker pint glass.
My favorite geriatric 80s cover band... Anyway, this stuff pours a deep garnet topped by a finger or so of dirty white foam. The nose comprises dried maple syrup, candied orange peel, and a vein of chocolate powder somewhere in the mix. The taste brings in more of the same up front, followed by an overwhelmingly bad melange of treacly bitterness, sugar-free maple syrup sweetness, and something akin to an old Whopper (the candy, not the burger) or Sixlet. Man, this stuff got objectionable really quickly! The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, this beer did not work at all. I imagined an amber with the creaminess of an oatmeal stout, but instead I got a mess of a beer with a bit of that creaminess. Bah.

This pours a medium brown color with a slight off-white head. The aroma is a little malty with hints of oats. The texture is very thin and the taste isn’t too strong. Fairly drinkable but it is light and doesn’t have a whole lot of flavor. Overall it’s fairly sweet but lacks depth in the taste.
