Much Love & Respect to SammyJaxxx for another gem from the East Coast.
Pours a hazy, straw colored swirl of bubbles and a tad of chunkage. Was going to mark appearance down for some of this, but then I saw what happened with the tight white cap of foam. And the sticky lacing that followed. This is going to be interesting.
A bright, floral lemon aroma pounces first. It then goes in a slightly tart yeasty direction, then comes back around with peach cobbleresque sweetness that immediately surrenders to the citrus/yeast melange. First impression was quite good, but the yeast is a slight distraction for me.
Taste is quite the nice mix of an earthy bread, slight peppery note, and some more of the bright citrus. As I continue to drink, I pick up a very pleasing peach skin type of taste that kinda hovers mid tongue. I'm searching for descriptors to be more detailed, but...to no avail. Finishes on the drier side.
Mouthfeel is one of the great surprises here. This "Hoppy Lager" is actually pretty chewy. I enjoy the mild heft it brings. Also, finishes a bit slick.
Overall, she might not be too pretty at first. But, the sticky lacing was carried like a tiara. My own personal bias would like to have slightly less yeastiness in the profile.

Cloudy dark straw pour with a finger of white atop briefly, settling to persistent skim and ring
Very appealing aroma, citrus hops, especially lemon, grass, light hints of tart yeast, nice clean grainy sweet acompaniment, even a hint of floral in there. Nice.
Beautiful taste, the tart from the yeast and fruitiness from the hops make a delicious chorus, with just a hint of herbal bitter to dry it. All the aromas are here to play. Backbone of the taste is luscious grainy sweet that has a bit of complexity to it, sorta crisp but also a touch of bread. Interesting, delcious. As it warms the bitter hop spice picks up and dries it more and adds to the complexity.
More viscous than you'd expect, and lower carb. as well, but here these are pluses, as they create a mouthfeel to fully show off what this baby has to offer. Excellent clean finish that puts spicy hop linger on palate.
Another fantastic beer from a brewery that is becoming a local treasure. Highly recommended, grab a pint or growler if you see it.
