Made in collaboration with Unseen Creatures Brewing and Blending from Miami. Using Lemon Drop and Galena hops in the whirlpool, and fermented with a french saison yeast, this classic style is crisp with notes of lemon zest, clove, and banana

A: Pours a very hazy, almost murky golden orange in color with moderate to heavy amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow + bright yellow + burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a medium to large sized patch of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of spicy/peppery saison yeast over the top of light to moderate aromas of grainy + wheat malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. Light aromas of citrus/lemon zest, citrus/lemon, and herbal hops. Very light aromas of banana + clove.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of grainy + wheat malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of spicy/peppery saison yeast as well as light flavors of banana + clove. Finally there are light flavors of citrus/lemon zest, citrus/lemon, and herbal hops which impart a light amount of bitterness in the finish which slowly fades away.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of dryness in the finish. Hints of alcohol warming in the finish as well.
O: Drinks pretty easily but the alcohol could be a little better hidden from the slightly hot finish. Enjoyable with a pleasantly classic saison yeast presence.

Look: It pours hazy yellow with an orange tint. It has a full, white head with excellent head retention.
Smell: The initial aroma is strong in orange notes. There is some light spice in the background with a bit of grainy sweetness.
Taste: Orange is the dominant flavor but the spice is more prominent in the flavor than in the aroma. There is some clove in the spices that are prominent as well. There is a low level of pepper and light doughy wheat.
Feel: The finish is dry, but not extremely dry.
Overall, very flavorful and very aromatic although the combinations are not the same for the aroma and taste. The spice is a bit more powering than I like for my taste.

Hazy orange appearance. Foamy two-finger white head that dissipates quickly. Grassy, yeast aromas. Sharp carbonation gives it a very harsh mouthfeel. Strong citrus notes up front, then a delayed yeast note, followed by an unpleasant, unexpected, bitter grapefruit finish. Sure enough, I looked up what hops they use, and it’s lemon drop and Galena. I think the fruit flavors are a little too powerful for this style.
