Hazy IPA, brewed with Citra, Strata, and Nelson, hit on the first dry-hop with Citra, Strata, and Nelson, then double dry-hopped with double the Nelson and Strata. Tropical and dank, with a nice earthy, white wine flavor.

Grabbed a single at Cheers. Poured into snifter. Beautiful soft yellow hazy with decent soft fluffy white head. Dissipated fairly fast but retained excellent full glass lacing with a soft surface film and tight white halo. Nose full with tropical fruits, melon. Slight bubblegum. Taste mirrors but the Nelson really kicks in as well. Juicy and tasty. Loved the mouthfeel. It had somewhat soft gentle carb on the tongue but still carried a lot of brightness. Perky but not soda pop. Got better as mouth filled with a malt driven creaminess. Rare for me to find a really smooth full brew but also has a refreshing crispness on the tongue. Delightful.
Overall this is my second brew from Heist. Both are well built, aroma and taste work. I really enjoyed this IPA. Expect I’ll start looking for Heist brews now.

I’m so over IPA’s these days, especially hazy New England styles. But this one stood out. Nothing too extreme. Smooth but not chalky. Hoppy but no back of the throat burn.

Picked up a 16oz single from TW Greenville SC on 7-19-21 for $7.49. Canned 6-3-21; consumed 9-8-21. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured a cloudy gold with an excellent head that has very long hang time.

Nose is very nice, full of citrus and tropical hops.

Taste follows the nose with some twist. Nice moderate pale malt base displays a medley of flavors including orange, pineapple, gooseberry, and white wine. Finishes with a nice pine and gooseberry bitterness; 6/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and refreshing.

Overall a very nice hazy that held up on the TW shelves pretty well! Really am liking Heist!

A: Pours a murky almost milky medium apricot in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate bright yellow + bright orange + pale golden yellow + peach colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a handful of small to medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/pineapple + citrus/grapefruit + tropical/passionfruit + vinous/white wine + gooseberry + dank resinous hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oat malts with a light amount of sugary sweetness.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oat malts with a light amount of sugary sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/pineapple + citrus/grapefruit + tropical/passionfruit + vinous/white wine + gooseberry + dank resinous hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving moderate lingering dank hop flavors.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of creamy soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly creamy soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable combination of hop flavors and aromas with lots of Nelson Sauvin presence. Definitely one that I would grab gain.

L: Highly translucent. May be a true hazy on a loggery gold hued brew, with three fingers of ivory head, and leaving some minor splotches behind.

S: Pineapple candy and an earthy papaya. Minor notes of lime pith, confectionery sugar, tangerine, and nectarine.

T: Following the nose, mostly on the pineapple and chives flavors, and it carries a slight dank bitterness.

F: The perfect juice spritzer!

O: I appreciated each of the three I picked up more than the last. A great beer in its balance. No idea how it accumulated a low 3:88 rating?!

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 09/10/20. Think I got it on Tavour.

Pours a light yellow, very hazy, small head. Smell is very juicy, bright fruit, mango, pineapple, and pine.

Taste is more pine bitterness, fruit skin bitterness, echo of the bright juicy fruits.

Mouthfeel is medium and effervescent. Overall, not bad.
