Served in nonic. Poured a lightly hazy honey-gold color with about an inch of bright white head that had moderate retention and light-medium lacing.

The aroma was the basic, expected yeast, grain and spice of the style, nothing wrong or missing, but nothing that stood out either. The flavor profile was pretty similar, with the biggest difference being a honey-sweet type flavor that I don't really look for in the style. It wasn't a huge distraction though.

The body was noticeably fuller than is typical for the style, and just a bit sticky, especially at the finish. Drinkability was good, even though not as crisp and clean as most Saisons. Overall, a pleasant enough little beer that I suspect will go good with the Chicken & Waffles I just ordered. Probably worth a shot if you see it.

From the notes on this beer: "collaboration between Patterson Cellars and Triplehorn Brewing Co. We blended our Saison with Late Harvest Roussanne wine."

Appearance: medium amber-orange hue with plenty of haze and a nice ivory head. Not bad.

Smell: slightly tart aroma with sweet malt and a little bit of caramel character. A little farmhouse funk adds a welcome complexity.

Taste: a little bit of funk, a little tartness, a little sweetness. There's a nice, fresh grassy character as well which really adds something to the farmhouse feel of this brew. I like it.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a big, robust creaminess. I like it quite a lot.

Overall: a tasty beer with a good drinkability. I could quaff quite a lot of this beer; it's balanced and doesn't stress any part of the palate. I would say that this beer doesn't have the vinous character I would have guessed from its name and description, but otherwise it's a good offering.
