it looks like the hops change from batch to batch on this one, or like their are quite a few combinations of hops they use in different iterations of this, so i will review it here under this apparently generic heading, the menu where i had it did not specify, but the beer is amazing, probably whatever version you have the chance to drink, and so this listing seems most appropriate. its pretty dense from the tap, almost milky looking, darker than straw colored but short of orange, starchy for sure, and frothy headed. it smells and taste like mosaic in its purest form, and maybe something from new zealand, big ripe berry, citrus, pineapple, and vinous notes to this, even herbal in the nose, lemongrass and tea hints in here, id love to know which varietals are coming together so nicely here. the beer isnt all that well refined, and this is both murkier and more green than i like in my hazy beer, which has been true of others ive had from sloop in the past as well, this seems not quite finished, like the haze is kind of forced and it makes the whole thing a little sloppy, but if thats the sacrifice for this hop profile (and no, i dont think it has to be, but...) im fine with it. it also hides its alcohol very well, ni sign of its strength at all. i wish i knew which edition of this i was enjoying, but the hops really are fantastic, lots of pineapple, melon, and lime to me. heavier than i want to drink a lot of, but its hard to argue with the killer hops in this. kind of par for the course with what i know about these guys, which is to say trendy and tasty beer not quite as well executed overall as it could be, but enjoyable nevertheless...

This was the best beer I've had from these folks. I really enjoyed this beer. Dry hop factor is appreciated in this offering.

-deep amber crowler pour with a sticky foam cap. Aroma is sweet. Caramel malt and orange marmalade front the flavors. This is a bit hot in the finish.

Citra version.
Canned early May 2017; drank 5/30/17 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice khaki head; a thick curtain of frothy lace.
Caramel, grapefruit & mild urine notes in the nose...ah, a terrible American barleywine masquerading as an IPA.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Caramel & pineapple flavors up front; mild urine notes on the finish.
These guys aren't ready for prime time, clearly. RIYL: bottom dweller American barleywines.
