$4.25 @ Wegmans, King of Prussia, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: I like Peach-A Coladas but I don't like getting caught in the rain (thanks Rupert, great tune). This also contains cashmere hops but I doubt that they contribute too much. Let's see... it's poured a very hazy light gold body beneath a thumb's width of white foam. The aroma delivers neither peach nor toasted coconut, and there's something a little odd about it. It's not off-putting or anything, just unusual. Moving on to the taste, I'm getting the peach and the cashmere hops but not a lot of coconut which is weird because Cashmere hops can sometimes throw coconut notes. It's floral, peachy, melon-like ~ AH HA! That's what I'm picking up in the aroma ~ and citrusy with lemon/lime. Apricot as well? I think yes, and also a light touch of earthy spiciness. It's slightly acidic which is fine, and that helps to balance it as there's not a whole lot of bitterness going on. The malt appears to be 2-row barley, wheat, and flaked oats. I'm also getting some pineapple and peach as it warms a bit. It's a nice tropical beer but I do have to admit that I'm disappointed by the lack of coconut. In the mouth it's medium-light, or perhaps even light-medium in body, and gently crisp and tingling. I was apparently wrong about the Cashmere hops as they do make a great contribution, but it's somehow a little wonky overall. I can see this as a good summer beer nonetheless, and I'm open to trying it again.
