Earthy & sticky maple with a medley of chocolate & fudge. Very light cinnamon, but it's definitely there. Finishes with more maple notes, vanilla, and rye whiskey note. It's smooth sipping for sure. No harsh booze notes at all; drinks at or below it's abv.
I have officially tried all 4 variants of 2020 Imperial pajamas (bourbon, bourbon vanilla, rye, & rye with maple and cinnamon) & the rye whiskey maple cinnamon is hands down the best with really no contest at all. It's by a land slide. The maple cinnamon treatment works very well with the barrel aged imperial pajamas. Something about the maple and cinnamon that really elevates this beer from just another barrel aged oatmeal stout that is slightly average to "wow" that's really tasty stout.

Maple Cinnamon - The variant that had the most hype and it delivered. It is tangy maple with a dry cinnamon bite. It is the boldest of the variants. Also, it is not a true breakfast stout as the coffee is missing but I really like the change of pace.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Released 12/31/20 had 1/15/21.
Pours near black and opaque, with a brief, short head and spotty cling. Aromas of cinnamon, malt, vanilla, some maple, oak, light rye whiskey- more as it warms, light chocolate and caramel. The flavor starts with the rye whiskey, then cinnamon, malt, some maple and vanilla, some oak and tobacco, light char, light chocolate and caramel. In both the aroma and flavor I picked up a little apple, like candied apples. Can’t imagine why, so I’ll assume that’s wrong. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
Seemed a little lighter than the non- adjunct version, but not much and the barrels still shine, as does the cinnamon. The maple is more subtle, but effective. I didn’t get the great spiciness from the barrels here, but maybe I overlooked it. A great variant and very enjoyable.
