12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 9/29/22, had 11/11/22.

Pours an orange amber, fairly clear, with no head and some foamy specks of cling. Aromas of bourbon, caramel, malt, brown sugar, oak, some tobacco as it warms. Has a bit of a fruity aroma. The flavors follow the nose: bourbon, caramel, malt, brown sugar, some oak, a light hop bitterness, tobacco as it warms. Has a bit of a fruity taste, as well. Smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.

This is best fully warmed. Flavorful barrels, and although it’s a little lighter overall for the style, it’s still a really good beer.

I'm really liking this one. The can lists dates as a tasting note and I wholeheartedly agree. I also get smoked maple syrup, candied nuts, and caramel. The bourbon isn't shy but it's well incorporated. Sweet overall but with a lot of intriguing layers. Damn good.

Chestnut brown pour with a khaki head. This does so well to capture bourbon soaked dates and raisin. Smell has that supported by barley, oak, toffee and nuts. Taste is more blended in with molasses instead of toffee, no nuts but has a hint of earth. Feel is very warm, but lush and has a refined bite on the finish. The wife liked it

12oz can served in a curvy Fremont glass. Canned on 09/29/22. Received from @FBarber.

Pours dark, dark amber in color with a medium sized head that settles in a minute or two to a thin, uniform, very fine ring and a very light dusting across the surface. Not much active carbonation, but moving it around gets some tiny bubbles moving. Smell is strong oak, tons of dates, some toffee and caramel sweetness. Something chocolaty/nutty about it.

Taste is oaky and dates, moderately boozy, some toffee, maybe a bit of the nuttiness but none of the chocolate.

Mouthfeel is a bit thin for a barrel-aged barleywine, but not distressing. Overall, this is a nice beer.
