16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 9/2019. Pours fairly hazy medium golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of biscuit, banana, bubblegum, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of pink guava, fruity/spicy/fairly acidic yeast, pale/wheat malts, and solid earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of biscuit, banana, bubblegum, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate yeast spiciness; herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and fruit/wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, clove, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, white bread dough, light banana/bubblegum/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of pink guava, fruity/spicy/fairly acidic yeast, pale/wheat malts, and solid earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spicy/tart/tangy notes. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/grainy, and fairly crisp/acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour saison. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of pink guava, fruity/spicy/fairly acidic yeast, pale/wheat malts, and solid earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/tart/tangy/drying finish. Great soft feel, and mildly lactic. Awesome balance of big juicy fruit, Saison yeast, and Lacto complexity; with a great balanced pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Light residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressively well made style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

As of 7/30/16 at the brewpub this is now with both guava and passionfruit, I'm not sure that warrants a new entry.
Cloudy pastel yellow-peach, almost no head.
Smell is unbelievably unique, I really don't know how to describe this. Overall I had a very wild selection of brews this time--they are really doing some odd stuff here. As with most Americans, I really don't have a lot of experiences with neither Guava or Passionfruit, maybe a single handful or less, but it seems they are really present on the nose along with the following.
Smell is very fresh, delicate floral hops, almost like lavendar, with corn.
Taste is more bitter pine than nose suggests, with a perfumey element, and carrot cake. A good amount of tropical fruit is present as well.
Feel is exceedingly pillowy.

On tap at Pies & Pints Easton. First non-IPA from Hoof that I've tried. The appearance of this beer is magical, but the taste is off. Flat with minimal flavor.

On tap at the brewery. The ABV wasn't posted, but I would guess it is comparable to the original. This was the Saizzurp that the bar keep recommend out of the 3 versions. It was a darker yellow. Nice amount of funk, but nowwhere near overbearing. Bretts were less noticeable than the flavor. Fruity. Like apples and pears. Nice malt balance. Almost a smokiness to it that I really enjoyed.
