Pours like a brown ale. Not exaggerating. It’s lighter than Pepsi. Smells pretty good, but it just has no balls. Maybe thin stouts are their thing, but I’ve never understood Hoof Hearted’s lack of body in their stouts. It tastes nice, with some sweet coffee and vanilla, but it lacks the richness that I prefer in a stout.

From a growler fill only 1 hour old!
Pours out pitch back with a mocha tan head and oily appearance.
The aroma is bursting with coffee notes. Dark roasted coffee, espresso, coffee beans, layers and layers of coffee mixed with some dark chocolate as well.
First sip is like an iced black coffee or espresso. Extremely coffee forward. Is this beer? Dark and milk chocolate notes are there and make it seem like a chocolate covered espresso bean. Tons of flavor.
Body is lighter side of full and mouthfeel is slightly creamy and oily (like coffee). ABV is completely hidden.
One of the best coffee beers I've ever had! Another great beer!

A decent amount of coffee flavor is balanced by some semi sweet chocolate. A little bit of a dry finish and the carbonation seems to be a hair on the flat side. It has a pretty decent silky smoothness otherwise. I would almost call it an imperial milk stout. Definitely on the higher side ABV wise for an American Stout, but not noticeable. Good beer overall
