1 PINT can
Served in a snifter
2017
This beer pours black and is topped with not much of a tan head.
The smell has some cinnamon remaining. I also get some chocolate. Maye a little bit of anise and not much from the barrel.
It is cinnamon forward. I get the vanilla in the flavor. There is a little coffee flavor as well. The barrel is absent.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
I had it fresh. It is not much worse than it was then. It has mellowed but not improved.

Can pour into a tulip; minimal head. Light cinnamon note on the nose, lots of barrel on the finish, but not much in the way of booze. Fairly thin, but smooth and enjoyable.

Many thanks to Knapp85 for this can!
A - Very dark brown pour with minimal lacing and carbonation.
S - Bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, cinnamon, maple syrup, a small amount of chocolate.
T - Big and blended from start to finish. Cinnamon, vanilla, maple, oak, bourbon, coconut, some chocolate, and warming is pretty minimal for a beer this big.
M - Full bodied, velvety, borderline light syrupy texture with lip smacking stickiness.
O - This beer is fantastic and highly recommended.

I'd like to think this is mislabeled on beer advocate as I really don't think this brewery brewed an American Stout at 11.5%. However, I ended up treating this as an imperial stout and poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a thick dark muddy brown very close to black with a finger's worth of tan foamy head that slid off at a fair pace. Light semi-sticky lace.
The aroma had some cinnamon, coconut, caramel, toast, vanilla, coffee and a little bit of roasted cocoa bean.
The flavor brought all of that together and added a little bit of barrel woody sweetness for a moderate blend. Mild aftertaste of the cinnamon, vanilla, and woody sweet barrel.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fine sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Cinnamon semi-harsh sort of finish.
Overall, very nicely done as an Imperial stout but would be extremely boozy as an American Stout. I'd still have again.

Picked up a 2pack from the Columbus Brew pub this past weekend while I was in town. 16oz can to sniffer poured a jet black with some decent mocha head. Smell was cinnamon for sure. Bit of toasted coconut caramel vanilla and coffee
Taste was definitely dominated by cinnamon, some vanilla and sweet syrup. Finished with a bit of booze. Mouthfeel was on par for an imperial stout but not as thick and viscous as I was expecting for an 11.5 beer brewed with maple syrup. Overall a very enjoyable beer but I could barely notice any barrel character

16oz can picked up from the brewpub (thanks Angelo!)
Pours a dark elixir, light bending at the base, with a full opaque appearance in the snifter. A thin mocha rim with a lattice of lacing around the top of the vessel.
Cinnamon, caramel, bourbon, oak and spices.
Chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, barrel and earth/spices.
Medium to full body, nicely carbonated, dry smooth finish.
A wonderful, complex amalgam of sweet, spiced, oak flavors.

This pours a shiny brown but fills to near black with a thick dense tan foam settling to a collar.
Smell is toasted brown sugar cinnamon Pop Tarts, wet oak, banana skin and Tootsie Roll with a touch of bourbon at the end. Hints of chocolate milk and maple emerge as it warms.
As with the base, the cinnamon comes out as if it is combined with brown sugar, and is very present, but not spicy or dry--almost like a Cinnabon. Chocolate malt is a major contributor, while waxy, nutty oak and bourbon makes an appearance. Vanilla bean seems to be the element that is giving off that banana skin note.
The body is surprisingly thick with a dense fizz and a semi-dry finish, which also has a little heat. I think the mouthfeel here is much improved upon the base actually.
I'm happy to say they've made significant progress towards barrel aging beer than their previous efforts. That said, I think the last, un-aged batch of Miracle Toast really nailed it. This one is not quite there in regards to the inspiration, but is still very good.
