Poured into a glass from a 16oz can purchased from the brewery one week ago. Can seemed as full as possible. Minimal head dissipated quickly to none. Thick, viscous, dark. Lots of rich coffee smell! Lots of coffee taste, chocolate, mostly coffee. Maybe some barrel...but not much. Slightly sweet upfront with a slightly bitter finish. Very thick mouthfeel - true to style. Overall very good and coffee dominant - would buy again.

Pours black with a finger of dark mocha head that is more fizzy than foamy. Head dissipates quickly. Aroma is coffee, and roasty, nutty malts at a distance. A closer whiff reveals notes of medium-bodied coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, and roasty, toasty, nutty malts. It smells dark, but not super complex. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, nutty and earthy malts with medium-bodied coffee on the back end. Dark chocolate, toffee, molasses, and burnt sugar add a little sweetness, but overall it comes off bitter. Mouth feel is thick with a texture akin to the last few ounces of a French press cup of coffee, which is to say, it features a little silty sludge. Overall, a good, hefty stout with expressive coffee.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 16oz can.
