This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of deep mocha head that leaves no lacing.
The smell is chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. The bourbon is subtle.
Coffee is the dominant force here. From beginning to end it is present. The bourbon once again is subtle. Unsweetened chocolate and anise round out the flavor.
Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
This is a good beer for coffee lovers. The barrel could have been more apparent.
